This is Ian who was my first Aussie. (Note the grooming!) I bought him from a pet store which means he was a puppy mill dog. Out of twenty-one known illnesses at that time, he had seven. The cost of the thirteen years of his life was around $10,000 and he was worth every penny. He was my anchor through quite a few traumatic life changes. When I started breeding Aussies, I vowed I would do everything in my power to produce healthy, happy puppies with the best possible start in life. Not only to try to protect owners from the heartbreak of a sick companion, but also because I figured I owed Ian that much. Most of my dogs are finished conformation champions. They also compete in Obedience, Agility and Earthdog Trials. There is a saying often quoted, "A well balanced dog has a title at both ends." This is very true. It takes more than beauty to make a good companion, and in the end, that is what these dogs are. First and foremost they are companions. I urge all my puppy buyers to develop the best in these wonderful dogs. Obedience, Agility, Earthdog, Therapy Dog are all easily in these dogs' vocabularies. Take advantage of it! |
